There are several film festivals coming this fall which might be of interest to area families and LGBTQ people.
REWIND: Celebering 20 Years of LGBT Film - September 19-20, 2015 at The Vashon Theater - The DoVE Project and Three Dollar Bill Cinema present award-winning and audience favorites from the past 20 years of the Seattle Lesbian and Gay Film Festival. CLICK HERE
Port Townsend Film Festival - September 25-27, 2015 in Port Townsend - There are a few LGBTQ films that are being screen including: Back on Board: Greg Louganis, a documentary about the Olympic swimmer and how he has dealt with coming out and being HIV+. Screens Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. at Rosebud Cinema. Fourth Man Out is a film about a small-town mechanic coming out in a blue collar town. 20th Annual Seattle Lesbian and Gay Film Festival - October 8-28, 2015 at the Egyptian Theater, Northwest Film Forum, and Pacific Place theater in Seattle - Three Dollar Bill Cinema presents a wild and provocative collection of films from around the world. Real Queer Youth Shorts collection at 12:30 p.m. on October 17, 2015. These shorts are The Real Queer Youth program, a local video production and media literacy training program for LGBTQ youth and allies ages 13-20 in Seattle. CLICK HERE
Gayby Baby is an Australian film which plays at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2015. Recently boycotted by a school in Australia, the film is a moving portrait of four kids—Gus, Ebony, Matt, and Graham—growing up in same-sex families. This honest documentary is told from the kids’ point of view as they deal with everyday life, whether that be developing a love for wrestling, learning to read, or handling issues in school. September Meeting - Back to School
Our next Kitsap PFLAG meeting is Monday, September 21 at 6:30 p.m.
We will be discussing our experiences with schools and resources which can help LGBTQ youth navigate the new school year. Kitsap PFLAG meetings are open parents, friends, families, and allies of the local LGBTQ community.
We are meeting at the Family of God Lutheran Church at the corner of Central Valley Road and Fairgrounds Road in East Bremerton.

June Meeting - Film Screening
Kitsap PFLAG will be screening the film
"Faces and Facets of Transgender Experience" at our meeting on Monday
the 15th.
This short documentary by the Boulder, CO PFLAG folks shares the stories of 18 transgender people and their families. It is a moving look at the issues that transgender people can face with their families and coworkers.

Kitsap PFLAG meetings are open to the entire LGBTQ community. I have heard from several families of trans* people that they would like to attend a meeting for trans* families specifically. Please consider coming to our regular meeting. We have had many good discussions about issues affecting trans* families.

Happy Presidents Day
Our next Kitsap PFLAG meeting is Monday, February 16 at 6:30 p.m., Presidents Day.

Kitsap PFLAG January Meeting
Looking forward to seeing you at our next Kitsap PFLAG meeting is this Monday, January 19 at 6:30 p.m., Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
We are meeting at the Family of God Lutheran Church at the corner of Central Valley Road and Fairgrounds Road in East Bremerton. The driveway is on Central Valley.
We are using a library room at the church which has a separate entrance from the main church. When you park, go in through the door to the far right of the building.
